Did you know that you can see astronomical objects in daylight? Check out the article for more info and tips. To be honest I didn't know that the International Space Station (ISS) could be seen during the day. But with the brightness of ISS - rivaling Jupiter - it is now my list to hunt for.
One other item you should look for every day, TWICE a day, is the Earth's Shadow. As the Sun begins to sink below the western horizon at sunset and rise in the eastern horizon before dawn, you will see the dark grayish band along those horizons topped by a band of pinkish color - the "Belt of Venus".
It takes a clear view of the horizons and a clear sky to see them but it is worth it as we can see the onset of a new day or the beginning of a new night amongst the stars.
I see each sunset when at sea and sometimes the dawn too.
