Webb Space Telescope Goes Into "Space"

Hey Space Placers!

Major components of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) are preparing to go into "space". JWST will not be riding a ticket just yet to get there but rather a crane that will lower the components into a huge thermal vacuum chamber at Goddard Space Flight Center.

The components will be subjected to the simulated environment of space and tested to insure they perform as will be necessary when JWST becomes the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.
