Venus to Cross the Sun June 5-6

Hey Space Placers!

Two weeks from today Venus will cross the face of the Sun. Known as a transit, this will be the last one for Venus until 2117 - no one alive today will be then. So, to see this literally once in a lifetime  event (Venus last transited the Sun in 2004) everyone should make an effort to do so.

Once again you cannot look directly at the Sun as this will damage your eyes.....only use a safe and approved solar filter.

NASA has provided a nice introduction on the event and I will have more as we get closer  http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/18may_venustransit/

I plan on seeing this event and hope to do a live shot with local news media.
