UPDATE: Major Discovery Mystery

Hey Space Placers!

We now know what the announcement will be about due to this updated press release:

"The Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) will host a press conference at 12:00 noon EDT (16:00 UTC) today to present the first results from the BICEP2 experiment, which measures B-mode polarization of the cosmic microwave background. This finding has major implications for our understanding of the first moments of the universe".

I'll be watching the conference and update you as soon as possible. I do think this is going to be a MAJOR announcement.

I have no idea what this will be about. But for CfA to use the words "major discovery" is pretty bold. Those in the astronomical community as well as journalists will be expecting just that - a major discovery announcement.

Stay tuned and tune in tomorrow…..I will be.
