Nova Cassiopeia 2021 (V1405 Cas) is the bright star in the center.

We have a RARE and fleeting opportunity to see a star called a nova in northern skies for possibly a few nights.
Using binoculars or a telescope to see Nova Cassiopeia 2021 (V1405 Cas) is a cinch....you just need to find and identify it in the sky which is not that hard using the provided sky chart.
As of the night of May 10th the nova was still easily visible in binoculars and to the unaided eye of a trained observer in dark skies at visual magnitude 5.45.
Good hunting and clear skies to see this rare occurrence.

ReplyDeleteIt's OK. The nova should be visible for awhile. It is still bright as of 5/12.
