Check out the video on how to use a sky chart like the one Sky and Telescope (S&T) Magazine.

You can also use S&T's Interactive Sky Chart to find your way around the sky.

For full attribution, I have subscribed to S&T for decades and have submitted articles and photos and been on staff and an attendee for some of their travel excursions.

You can't go wrong with S&T, which is affiliated with the American Astronomical Society (AAS).
