Wanna' Do Some Lunar Science?????

Hey Space Placers!

Any armchair lunar scientists out there? If you are interested in helping to explore and chart the Moon, do I have a deal for you. And it is free.

Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has been taking detailed photographs of the Moon for over a year and has acquired thousands of images. The time has come to analyze these images and scientists as asking for the public's help.

MoonMappers uses LRO images and a clever and easy to use Internet interface for citizens to contribute their time and effort to the project of literally mapping the Moon.  Crater images are provided through the Internet for citizens to view and classify and submit their results.

Read the press release for more information http://cosmoquest.org/Press_Release:_MoonMappers_Goes_Public
and visit MoonMappers http://cosmoquest.org/mappers/moon/.

I'll be joining the project myself and am looking forward to seeing the Moon through the cameras of LRO.
