NASA has moved the launch date of JWST from Halloween to the week before Christmas, Dec. 18. 2021.

The telescope has finished all testing and checkout and is to be shipped via the Panama Canal to its launch site at French Guiana.

Twenty plus years to get to this point and over $8 billion to develop, JWST has many more hurdles to accomplish before its First Light image.
