SATURN AT ITS CLOSEST & BRIGHTEST FOR 2026 OCTOBER 4

 Hey, Space Placers!

Earth goes between the sun and Saturn once a year. That’s because we take a year to orbit the sun, while Saturn takes nearly 30 years. This animation from Lowell Observatory (not to scale) shows you what opposition means. It means Saturn is opposite the sun as seen from Earth. Image via Lowell Observatory.
